The Lord Jagannath Temple is situated at Puri, State of Orissa in India. The temple is famous for its chariot festival that is held for eight days. The idol of Lord Jagannath along with two other idols of Subhadra and Balbhadra are carried in three huge chariots to another temple named Gundicha Mandir. This annual chariot festival of Lord Jagannath is a mark of the lord’s visit to his birthplace. Thousands of devotees throng the chariot in a procession, singing and dancing in praise of the Lord. The chariot festival is normally held every year in the months of June-July.
